Painting Tips and Tricks

How It Works

Discover how easy and fun it is to create your own masterpiece!

At Glow & Glaze Studio, you simply pick your pottery, choose your colours, and start painting — we’ll glaze and fire it for a beautiful, shiny finish.

01

Important Glazing Notes

  • Wipe your pottery with the damp sponge.
  • Please make sure your hands are clean and not oily.
  • For best results, apply 2–3 thin, even coats of paint.
  • Too much paint can cause firing defects
  • Colours look chalky before firing; that’s normal!
  • Need help? Our team is always happy to assist.

02

Choose Your Supplies

  • Grab your brushes, sponges, stencils, stamps, and design tools from our supply station.

  • Use one brush per colour, or rinse and dry before reusing.

  • Sketch lightly with a pencil. The marks will disappear after firing.

  • Speckle Paints and Squeeze Bottles need one thin coat only.

  • Please keep the needles inside the squeeze bottles to prevent clogging.

03

Pick Your Colours

  • Choose your favourite colours from our paint bar.

  • Paint colours look lighter before firing.

  • Each bottle matches the sample tiles.

  • Please leave the large paint bottles at the paint station.

04

Pickup & Storage

  • Hand-painted ceramics may show natural variations after firing; this is part of the handmade process.

  • Your pottery will usually be ready for pickup in 7–10 days.

  • All finished ceramics will be held for up to 45 days from the day of painting.

  • Please bring your sales receipt for pickup.

  • Write down all colours used on your Claim Sheet before leaving your table.
